Wastewater treatment is becoming more regulated and monitored than ever before. Wastewater from industrial, commercial and municipal plants are heavily regulated. This can make it difficult for clients with strong waste to meet ECA requirements.
Sewage plants have thousands sometimes millions of living organisms. These organisms are what break down (treat) the incoming wastewater. There are several different types of treatment systems. Each system has its pros and cons. The system is designed based on influent/effluent parameters, location, space, climate, and of course cost. Designing, maintaining, and operating a wastewater facility has its challenges. Wastewater facilities are expensive to construct and if not operated properly expensive to recover.
